| Programme description: | Mechatronics means interdisciplinary knowledge in area of engineering and technology. It is in general new approach to design and manufacture innovative products in which a product is considered as part of the market. Mechatronics integrate such fields as mechanics, electronics, control and computer engineering it is also very important field in education of nowadays engineers who should have very wide knowledge in many disciplines. It helps them to achieve innovative solutions, competitive on a global market. Graduates in mechatronics at The University of Science and Technology have knowledge in many disciplines including: mechanics, machine design and operation, electronics, computer engineering, control engineering and robotics. They are able to analyze, design and manufacture, operate and service complex interdisciplinary products. Their skills are oriented on market, project management and team works in international teams. They understand each phase of Life Cycle of products. During the study in mechatronics, students prepare many different industrial related projects, which helps them to recognize real engineering problems and be ready to work in engineering teams in many different fields of industry including: automotive, aviation, house equipment, consumer electronics, defense, software, manufacturing, etc. During their study, students can spend their practical training in many industrial or research companies located in Poland and area surrounding city of Krakow. Teaching subjects are divided into two parts: general courses and technical courses. General courses include courses in mathematics, physics, chemistry, material science, computer and control science, but technical ones include: mechanical design, manufacturing process, electronics, electrical engineering, CAD/CAM/CAE, measurements and signal processing, project managements and software engineering. Students with BSc diploma can continue their education in mechatronics at our University. We offer for them post graduate courses in mechatronics or other discipline related to mechanical engineering, electronics or computer engineering and many others. The third education level they can reach being students at PhD courses. |
