International students who wish to study in Poland and want to avoid costs of education can apply for various scholarships which either exempt them from paying a tuition fee or serve as a nancial support in covering their living costs in Krakow. Government Scholarship - detailed information with respect to this issue may be obtained at the Polish Embassy in a relevant country. In order to receive the scholarship, the candidates have to pass an examination determining their familiarity with the Polish language and general knowledge. Candidates with best results may study in Poland as holders of the Polish Government Scholarship (this year, the scholarship amounts to PLN 900 per month).
Students who are holders of the Polish Government Scholarship, may receive the following benefits in the course of their education in the Republic of Poland on a one-time basis:
- relocation allowance during the first year of studies
- hardship allowance
- allowance for diploma thesis preparation.
Students who are not of Polish origin may obtain information at the Polish Embassy in their respective countries on inter-governmental agreements, thanks to which students are entitled to receive co-financing or commence studies without fees and scholarship benefits (free-of-charge studies). Information on scholarships can also be obtained in various associations and groups related with the applicant's country of origin which nancially support students studying in countries other than their country of origin (usually, first year students with good results are entitled to material assistance).
The applicants may also obtain information in the Ministry of Higher Education in their respective countries about possibilities of material assistance in the case of commencing studies abroad.
Students who are Belarusian citizens are entitled to apply for the Konstanty Kalinowski Scholarship. This refers to Belarusian citizens expelled from universities or persons who have matriculation certificates yet who could not commence or continue studies due to political reasons at Belarusian universities.
